An Internet thief

An Internet thief acts
to all intents and purposes
like a scavenging interloper.

Since your door is unlocked,
she shows up, uninvited,
in your living room.

She sniffs around the furniture,
peers into the pretty glass jar
you filled with an assortment of chocolates,
for the pleasure of convivial guests.

She then puts her hand into the jar
And, scooping up a handful of chocolates,
furtively shoves them into her pocket.

Rushing back to her own house
she breathlessly dumps her booty on her kitchen table,
declaring to her gullible guests:

Look what nice chocolates
I've bought for you from the Chocolaterie.
Aren’t I a generous and goodly person?
