This is a funny story from Quebec. Funny, because it's so pathetically indicative of the dismal confusion and failure of Canadians to understand Multiculturalism. Which to me suggests a failure of the original concept and intent of Multiculturalism, about which I wrote here.


"The man behind the declaration, councillor Andre Drouin, told the National Post newspaper the rules were not racist.

"We invite people from all nationalities, all languages, all sexual orientations, whatever, to come live with us, but we want them to know ahead of time how we live," he said. "

It's a relief to hear an explanation from the venerable M. Drouin that the inhabitants of his town:

"consider it completely outside norms to... kill women by stoning them in public, burning them alive, burning them with acid, circumcising them etc."
