Myanmar

Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink ;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink.

Read this.

Like the PRC powers that be even care. China’s response to Myanmar letting its cyclone victims wither away is the same as when Myanmar was mowing down monks and shooting Japanese photojournalist Kenji Nagai through the heart: It has no business telling a sovereign nation what to do.

See no evil, hear no evil makes them just as evil.

And then this.

Nowhere but Burma can one find this combination of brutality, corruption, ineptness, religiosity and xenophobia in a regime which, under one leader and name or another, has hung on to power for 46 years.

Invade Burma — kill the rulers — put their heads on spikes. Free the people.

And this.

This is one case where the world community seems ready, willing and able to avert the catastrophe which may already be occurring. I will add this, though: The U.N. Security Council has said nothing about this tragedy. The despicable Human Rights Commission is also mum on the subject. So, the U.N. is still following its script. I guess that tens of thousands of dead Burmese don't equal a fractional number of dead Arabs on the West Bank or in Gaza...........

An orphan's curse would drag to hell
A spirit from on high ;
But oh ! more horrible than that
Is the curse in a dead man's eye !

It's a sad and doomed humanity that such are its priorities...
