What do you make of the IDF terror attack on Friday in the West Bank that left an unarmed American peace activist facing life threatening injuries? The IDF continued firing tear gas canisters at medics as they loaded him onto a stretcher and detained the ambulance for over fifteen minutes while he bled from a hole in his head that left his brain visible.

By the way are you a racist in the style of the Nazis, or simply a supremacist like the KKK?

It is my experience that those who ask a Jewish person he or she is a "racist in the style of the Nazis, or simply a supremacist like the KKK" are usually the ones preparing the warrant for genocide II of the Jews. As in the eight stages of genocide explained here:

http://www.genocidewatch.org/8stages.htm

classification, SYMBOLIZATION and DEHUMANIZATION are the first three steps in the preparation for genocide.

I imagine I must be another self-hating Jew then, but really, who have I dehumanized? You have dehumanized an entire people and there is a genocide happening, wanting that genocide to stop is only racist in the sense that wanting the Nazi genocide to stop was anti-German, but I guess once we accept that all groups of people are essentially the same we must accept that all of the horrors we see in other societies are present in our own, and I imagine for Judaism then you repersent what could aptly be described as the Nazisqe wing, the supremacist wing, the ethnocentric wing.

and what DO you make of the IDF attack last week, the victim came at the insistence of his girlfriend who came to Israel with Birthright in order to join the ISM.

"I imagine I must be another self-hating Jew then"

You state this with a certain note of pride. Which in and of itself is symptomatic of the infiltrated consciousness. The girl who abuses a good faith project in the service of ISM is another such a symptom.

Do you have any link to this story you are telling here? I tried to google it but couldn't get anywhere. Where did you read about this incident?

Thanks for your support, Noga. I ventured into the domain of the comments to say that I'd finally mustered up the energy to respond on the thread to which you link in this post, only to find more of the same on here... No, worse, much worse... Oy!

Some of that toxicity has now crossed the Atlantic and infiltrated good academic institutions and the minds of otherwise decent people.

Did you see the courageous Israeli soldiers in the video? You must really be proud to support that.

There are of course Jews under arms, or formerly under arms who I can be proud of, look up Udi Adiv.

Here is a report from the Hebrew press:

I see the military is still investigating. I will await the results of this investigation, if you don't mind. ISM activists are not exactly reliable sources, especially when championed by someone who is consumed with hatred for Israel, as you are.

Anon (above) utilizes the sort of shrill rhetoric that is typical of the anti-Zionist left and radical left in general. Of course I am referring to the notion of equating the shooting of a tear gas canister with a terrorist attack and the idea that there is some sort of genocide against the Palestinians. Thankfully most intelligent people can read right through this sort of nonsense.

Look, I am loathe to speak for Noga or anyone besides myself but I suspect very, very few people who support Israel (at least those who post and comment here) are happy that Tristan Anderson was injured. When I read about it in the NYT this Sunday I wondered if I might have met him in the past or if any of my friends knew him personally.

However, the organization he volunteered with, the International Solidarity Movement, is known to intentionally place activists in dangerous situations. When Tristan and other ISM volunteers placed themselves in the mix with people throwing stones at the IDF, they knew they were asking for trouble. They knew these disturbances can escalate rapidly. But they *volunteered* to put themselves in harms way. Some see this as valorous. I see it as reckless and lacking judgment.

You are correct that Tristan’s girlfriend was on a birthright trip. But the organization that sponsored that trip has nothing to do with the ISM. Israel would not approve a birthright trip affiliated with the ISM, and rightfully so.

Israel is very serious about security. Having neighbors who want you destroyed will do that to you. When American and European activists go overseas and align themselves with Israel’s enemies they need to think very carefully about what they are doing and why they are doing it. Is it really in the name of peace or in order to reinforce your own delusional radical politics?
