This is false Noga.
You know as well as I that Euro Christian nations are under the same intense scrutiny, by the same Western Left...of which American Jewry embrace that scrutiny with a vigorousness.
It is great to see Jews having to defend Israel from those same attacks, and in the process labeling masses of critics as Jew haters. They are paving the way for the re-emergence of a vigorous no apologies Euro Christian cultural revival.

How does anyone see the Jews of Israel as "mono-cultural, ethnically-homogenous"???
Even if you could integrate immigrants from Bukhara to Brazil, from Ethiopia to Canada, ..., the near-infinite diversity of religious Jewish liturgy from the atheists to the Hasidim is far more diverse than anything in the United Kingdom. And they have the legacy of an Empire than includes an Anglican Church in a non-violent not-so civil war of secession.
It just boggles the mind, and I am infuriated at the tone of the TNR thread. So I thought I would vent at Hamilton's tunnel vision of mono-cultural Jewishness. He must be on Ahmandinejad's Twitter for "Jews-are-bacteria" jokes.

You might look into critical theory, Noga, and the Frankfurt School...to see the roots of the extreme criticism with the goal of deconstruction and deligitimization of the Euro Christian majority nations and societies.
Its now being used as a blunt instrument on Israel.

Will: My advice is that you should not allow these discussions to seep into your real life. If you feel you are getting too angry just keep away for a while. These things can work like poison. I see these "engagements" as an opportunity to learn how to deal with the most perfidious positions, to learn what is being said and how, and not to be surprised by anything anymore. If one loses one's cool, one loses. Where there is a risk that I might get too angry on a personal level, I ignore what is said.
I guess I missed the thread where Will meets the Roid...I noticed the Settlements thread is quite long and will check that...in the Lebanon thread, I just read his first sentence and move on.
BTW, Sophia asked him about having a cat becasue I am sure she read the NYT opiniator essay I linked, wherein a cat-lover admits the need to overcome the stereotype of "curmudgeonly shut-ins" . I thought that is what Sophia was implying, or one of the comments about how men who have cats never get respect :)

Ah, it was the citizenship oath thread - it is always painful to see a newbie of willjames' intelligence and integrity have to figure out that roid is a classic psycopathic bully who believes his own lies and is incapable of empathy. add in the rigid ideological black/white divide of if-you-do-not-agree-with-me, you are a rightwing fascist [fill in the blank]. multiplied by the obsession with Peretz.
Plus, he is back to foul language.
Will - ignoring him is what eventually causes him to disappear, plus that doctorate in economics at the New School. He feeds on the attacks if his acolytes are absent. That is what Molly meant, as she openly admires roid rage.

Thank you, my friends, for your words of wisdom. I know better, but I do occasionally lose my cool when the level of animosity and the outrageousness of accusations take me by surprise.
I agree that the roid is a dysfunctional creature that feeds on negative energy and is best avoided. When I see the mess he makes as soon as people engage him, I often think of the tar baby from the Uncle Remus stories that I read as a kid.
Will - he seems to have sputtered into incoherence, at least temporarily. closest I have seen to a meltdown :)
